Die cast base has 9.6% more aluminum by weight with more reinforcing ribs and thicker walls making it heavier duty.
Base is silver powder coated vs. clear coated bases for better corrosion protection.
Base bushing has a center support to keep the opening from being a toe stabber.
The bushing is chamfered, but the bushing has an outside diameter that protects when the end of the post is plugged in, preventing the star of corrosion.
